To the south of Payson located down Highway 188 about 55 miles the famous Theodore Roosevelt Lake. To the north of Payson 17 mi into Pine and Strawberry Arizona you will find many many activities festivals and summertime events as these two small little communities have put together all kinds of outdoor showcases to attract Tourists and bring business to the small communities there. And headed up further north you will come into an area called Happy Jack where there are Rolling Hills of Tall Timber and beautiful landscape into this mountainous area it has both Rolling Hills and Steep Canyon edges. Many fine custom log homes and lodges are found in this area and it is well known or it’s wonderful Rock foundations and breathtaking Open Sky views of the stars at night.
There is that doubt that the Rim Country, Payson, Pine, Strawberry, Kohl’s Ranch, Christopher Creek, Forest Lakes, and Happy Jack and all of the surrounding areas will always be in very high demand with cooler temperature than the Phoenix Metro area, located in the Tall Timber yet close enough to the valley for access to shopping, hospitals and other facility.
